For the crisis ideas for our class to solve I decided to go for simpler everyday crisis to superhero city destruction level mission. I also included a villain mission since not all of the classes characters are necessarily a hero.
- College students across the city are beginning to struggle with end of semester assignments and finals. What can your superhero do to help? Distraction, study help, burn the test?
- An alien creature drops from the sky and begins to terrorize the city of Fredericksburg. What will your hero do to combat this villain? Kick it back into space or befriend it?
- Bats are attacking people on the river. What solution can you find? Get them to settle down or move to a new location?
- Jane Doe is stuck in traffic and late for work. How can you help? Move the other cars? Move her car? Cover her shift at work?
- Foreign military lands in the city. How will your character help? Will they save the city on their own or ask for help from other heroes?
- Villain mission: The city is too peaceful. What will you do to cause havoc? Power outage? Pop quiz?

For my select one assignment I chose to do a life hacks video.
For this assignment I chose three life hacks that I actually use in my own life. While I’m sure there are other videos out there of these hacks I did not look them up and instead stuck to those I used myself. Where I struggled with this assignment was somewhere unexpected. I do not own a tripod and was not able to got one from someone I know, so I had to get creative for some of the shots (sorry about the Pinnacle bottle, I couldn’t edit it out). However I made due and recorded three different hacks. The first is how to open a can of soda when you can’t get a finger under the tab to open it. This is not something I found online, but something I just did myself one day when I didn’t have anything else to try and open it with. It’s nice because it can work anywhere and I pretty much always have a ponytail on my so I’m always prepared for this hack. Next was a way to get clean, easy edges around your cuticles when you’re painting your nails. You put Elmers glue around your cuticle and then peel it off after you paint your nail while the polish is still wet. For this hack and the next one, I did see these online at some point, but they are real hacks in my life so I decided to include them. Finally, I have using a rubber band as a grip to help open stubborn nail polish. I liked to split form and ,music for this video because I thought it made it fun and like other life hack videos that I’ve seen. Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment.
For my first assignment I chose an art in 6 seconds assignment worth 4 stars. The directions were simple, make a 6 second video creating something.

I chose to create a fortune teller because I thought it was simple but nostalgic. I remember making these all the time when I was is middle school and I recently started making them again. Not necessarily filling them in, but I just thought of it like origami and I found it relaxing. I ended having a lot of trouble keeping to the rules though. Eve doing a hyperlapse video I still was not able to keep my video at six seconds. I will say that I finished the fortune teller itself within the six second mark, it was me taking the time to pop it open and show the finished product that pushed it over six so I still feel that I was successful in this assignment. I chose this assignment specifically because hyperlapse is one of my favorite thing to use in videos and this gave me the opportunity to do so. This assignment was fun and it was nice to take a trip down memory lane with this piece of “art”.
